We specialize in Bactrian Camels, Reindeer and Llamas.  We have acquired and delivered our animals from North Carolina and New York to Oregon and Washington and many points in between.

Hello and welcome to our web site!  We are David and Carla Knecht, we have owned and operated Tip Top Exotics located in Bowdle, SD since 1990.

In selecting our animals, we have always taken great care in choosing those with the best disposition and conformation.  One of the first questions people ask us is "How can a camel survive in South Dakota?" with "What is the difference between a Bactrian camel and a dromedary camel" a close second.

The Bactrian camel originates from the high mountain regions of China, therefore having no difficulties adjusting to hot or cold climates.  People commonly confuse our camels with the dromedary camels found in the hot deserts of the middle east.  An easy way to remember the difference between the two is by the beginning letter of each animal.  The Bactrian ( ^{has two humps}), while the Dromedary ( ^{has one hump}).  We invite you to browse through our web site and please contact us with any questions.
